Lotus Lessons are structured, objective driven, unmounted life skill development sessions featuring experiential learning with horses. The so called “soft skills” that are so necessary for work and life are nurtured with each visit. Connection, relationship building, communication, frustration tolerance, situational awareness, team work and leadership of self before others are targeted growth areas in these sessions.
6, 8 or 12 week programs available. Suitable for ages 10 and above.
Individual, Group and Family sessions available.
Custom programs available for institutional service providers.
One-on-one sessions tailored to individual goals, providing personalized instruction and focused skill development. Horsemanship is a part of these lessons. Until a rider is able to catch, groom, tack up and cool out a horse independently, these activities will be part of the lesson time. When weather makes riding unsafe for the horse or the rider, unmounted horsemanship lessons will be held on subjects such as tack identification and selection, first aid, conformation, nutrition, etc.
These lessons are available to students who have previously booked and completed an introductory assessment lesson.
Horsemanship Academy is a semester based horseback riding program for children ages 10 and above that intentionally includes weekly classroom time. Topics include riding theory, horse care, fitness and foundational skills for the aspiring horse owner. Students will progress along a levels system with checklists of skills to master before moving to the next level. This allows them to chart their hard work, celebrate their success and visualize where they are going next.
The Fall Semester is 13 weeks long with 12 scheduled weeks and 1 week for make up lessons. It begins September 20 and ends December 19. Academy students receive discounted rates and early sign up on all Summer and School Break programs. Any school break programs that are running during a regular semester may be attended at no extra cost instead of their regular lessons that week.
Tier 1 = 12 riding lessons and 12 classroom lessons per semester
Tier 2 = 24 riding lessons and 12 classroom lessons per semester
Tier 3 = 36 riding lessons and 12 classroom lessons per semester
Classroom lessons will be held on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm
